intriguing...so what is it that lights yonder darkness...
Brian,
If I told you, the intrigue would just disappear, wouldn't it?
OK. It's just a night light on a school yard. Kinda spooky looking though, I thought, so I pushed the saturation a bit to make it more...lurid. ;-)
I went to the Museum of Death this weekend. Lurid is exactly the right word.
Megan,
I looked at their website. Right word indeed.
I'm still recovering.
Megan,
However sensational, it had to be pretty sobering, too.
Sobering...now there's something you can do something about! ;-)
i hate when dictionaries define words with other big words. for instance, one definition of lurid is pallid. i'll bet at least as many people who don't know the definition of lurid also don't know the definition of pallid. pallid in colour? wan? wahhhh!
in elementary school, i looked up the word masturbation. i can still remember the definition: self-gratification. i had to look up the word gratification and it still didn't make sense. it sounded like masturbation was something akin to eating animal cookies.
i've always been pallid, but i'm rarely lurid.
and i love animal cookies.
Seraphine,
I concur indubitably. (<=See!? that's the dictionary's fault!)
I shoulda just put no.4. That's all I was goin' for.
You mean your dictionary didn't include the word "hand" in its masturbation definition? No wonder you turned to animal cookies.
very dramatic technique; I like the sharp contrasts. And your found art below... so nice!
Ascender,
Thank you. Yeah, I reckon I was trying to up the drama...
So you like Nedzvetckaya, eh? Quite a talent.
